Ronan & Erwan Bourollec, From Quimper, France, are freelance designers with an aptitude for creating items that are both simple and intelligent. It’s a partnership that began officially in 1999, when the younger of the two graduated from art school and joined his older brother’s already burgeoning studio. Their innovative minds allow them to bring to life mechanism that encompass numerous possibilities.The Bourollec brothers belong to a generation that had grown up with the Internet, a good starting point for reflecting on a new work scenario. Needless to say, this in itself would not be enough. The Bourollecs stand out for the way the combine analytical clarity with technical understanding, a great enthusiasm for their work, and pronounced abilities as designers.
